Just a few kilometers along the road is Puerto Cabopino, probably the most secluded and picturesque port on the Costa and a popular venue for tourists who want to enjoy a good meal before taking a walk along its sandy beaches. Some of the Coast`s most popular restaurants, such as Albert's and Giuseppes Pizzeria, are located here.
A few kilometers more and you hit the world famous resorts of Marbella and Puerto Banus - the millionaires playground. There are fabulous restaurants and incredible shops her but be sure to remember your credit card, it can be pricey.

Close neighbour to Calahonda is the fishing pueblo of La Cala de Mijas. This is a delightful village with nice sandy beaches and good shopping. La Cala also has a good selection of restaurants - something for everyone - and some excellent chiringuitos (beach bars). Tourist information from www.CalaDeMijas.com
Next door neighbour to Calahonda is the ever popular Family resort of Miraflores. In Miraflores you will find all kinds of sporting activity. This includes lawn bowls, tennis, golf and golfing academy, swimming, paddle tennis and football. In addition there are fitness centers and gymnasium. All of this is open to everyone at a reasonable cost.
Calahonda is located about mid way between Malaga Airport and Marbella, close to several golf courses and has the typically sun-drenched beaches for which the Costa del Sol is so popular.
There are two main access roads from Malaga, the N340 which is the old coast road that brings you via Benalmadena and Fuengirola, skirting the Mediterranean. You will pass La Cala de Mijas on Mijas Costa and then Miraflores Golf and Family resort, finally coming upon Calahonda on your right hand side.
The alternative rout is to leave the Airport and take the motorway and the Peaje (toll road) directly to the Calahonda exit. This second alternative whilst not so scenic is much faster and you will encounter far less traffic. See our map page for more details.
Shopping in Calahonda is easy with a good supply of supermarkets and a couple of well presented shopping precincts. These precincts are also host to a selection of fun restaurants and bars.
Whilst staying at the villa a car is preferable but not essential. A small train passes the door on a regular basis and will take you to the shops or restaurants. Taxis are also easy to obtain plus we are close enough to walk to many of the attractions such as the tennis club or the La Siesta Golf Club - both have good restaurants and bar.
